NICB`s annual report on car robbery
Top Ten Most Stolen Cars on NICB’s List
The NICB’s list of top ten most stolen cars of 2011 are compiled by means of using the vehicle theft data that is submitted by the law enforcement to NCIC or National Crime Information Centre. Here are the complete top ten lists.
The first one in the list is the 1994 Honda Accord, followed by the 1998 Honda Civic, the 2006 Ford Pickup comes in third spot while the 1991 Toyota Camry is on the fourth spot. The 2000 Dodge Caravan is on the fifth spot followed by the 1994 Acura Integra. Moreover, the 1999 Chevrolet Pickup is on the seventh spot and the 2004 Dodge Pickup is on the eight spot. The ninth spot goes to the 2002 Ford Explorer and the last spot goes to the 1994 Nissan Sentra respectively.
In this report, it actually shows that most thieves are targeting the older versions of these car brands like the 1994 Honda Accord as well as the 1998 Honda Civic. As a matter of fact, 9 out of 10 most stolen vehicles on 2010 are all from the 1990’s and early 2000’s model. This is for a certain reason that older models are not properly equipped with the most sophisticated anti-theft safety or security systems that are often found in new cars today like immobilizers systems and key codes technology. Everyone can try the Layered Approach in order to prevent vehicle thefts. Knowing the things that you need to do will eventually help you in getting rid of thieves.
